- 200 ml of water
- 50 grams of brown sugar
- 1 gram of brewer’s yeast
- An empty 2-liter soda bottle
- Knife or scissors
- Preparation:
- Cut the soda bottle in half just above the middle to prepare for the trapping solution.
- Boil the water and dissolve the sugar in it. Once dissolved, allow the syrup to cool below 30°C. You can speed up cooling by placing it in the fridge.
- Pour the cooled syrup into the lower half of the bottle and add the brewer’s yeast without stirring.
- Invert the top half of the bottle and insert it into the bottom half. Secure it with tape.
- Placement and Maintenance:
- Place the trap in areas where mosquitoes are prevalent.
- For broader coverage, set up multiple traps around your home.
- Refresh the syrup every two weeks, or when bubbles no longer form, indicating the end of fermentation.
- Preparation:
This natural trap is not only effective but also environmentally friendly, offering a non-invasive way to manage mosquitoes. Try it and enjoy your summer nights without interruptions.
